Maxim Kolesnikov

Maxim Kolesnikov, PhD, is an Analyst in the Biotechnology team at M Ventures, having joined the team as a Fellow in September 2025. Maxim holds Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Microbiology and Immunology from the University of British Columbia. He completed his PhD in Structural Biology & Biochemistry at the Biozentrum research institute at the University of Basel, where he worked on understanding the formation of macromolecular complexes in bacterial pathogens. Aside from publishing his work in Nature Communications, he established and was the co-author on several interdisciplinary collaborations as well as being the recipient of multiple external funding sources including the Boehringer Ingelheim Fonds PhD fellowship and Novartis Freenovation grant. Prior to joining M Ventures, Maxim co-developed a prospective biotech project and co-led it through the Nucleate Activator program and early PoC experiments. Maxim is based in Amsterdam at the M Ventures head office.
