Pictor Labs develops a fully digital imaging process using highly accurate GAN (Generative Adversarial Network), along with related methods and proprietary algorithms. Those can ingest a high resolution image of an unprocessed, unstained (label-free) tissue sample, captured using a standard fluorescence microscope, and convert it within seconds to a series of virtually stained images, that pathologists typically obtain from a histology laboratory via chemical processes, reducing sample preparation related costs and saving time. Pictor Labs is based at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).
AI-powered virtual staining demonstrates potential to revolutionize histopathology, simplify lab
workflows, and accelerate drug discovery.
